What is GDPR?
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) was implemented on May 25, 2018. It is a regulation in EU law that specifically speaks to data protection and privacy in the European Union and the European Economic Area. It also addresses the transfer of personal data outside of those areas.
GDPR is the Gold Standard for Data and Economic Security in the European Union
It is generally considered to be the world’s strongest set of data protection rules and sets a new standard for consumer rights throughout the EU.
The GDPR’s primary aim is to give individuals control over their personal data and to simplify the regulatory environment for international business. Controllers and processors of personal data must put in place appropriate benchmark and organizational measures to implement data protection principles. Dye & Eskin, Inc is considered a “processor” for the purposes of GDPR.

No personal data may be processed unless this processing is done under one of six lawful bases specified by the regulation (Article 6)

Data controllers/processors must clearly disclose any data collection, declare the lawful basis and purpose for data processing – and state how long data is retained. Firms should have internal controls and regulations for various departments such as audit, internal controls, and operations.
